AC EV Chargers

3.7–22 kW · up to 48 A

AC chargers (Level 2 in North America, Mode 3 under IEC 61851) charge through the vehicle’s on-board charger. They suit places where cars park for hours: homes, workplaces, hotels and car parks.

Our AC range covers a compact smart wallbox for one parking space and two dual-port models — a pedestal and a wall unit — for shared parking. Every networked model supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1.

AC EV Chargers: common questions

What is the difference between AC and DC charging?

An AC charger supplies alternating current and the car’s on-board charger converts it, usually at 3.7–22 kW. A DC charger converts the power itself and feeds the battery directly, at 20 kW and above.

Do you make AC chargers for North America?

Yes. The VT-HW wallbox is available in North American versions at 32, 40 and 48 A on 208–240 V with a Type 1 (SAE J1772) cable.

Which AC charger suits a public car park?

A dual-port model: the VT-CP pedestal for open car parks or the VT-CW wall charger where there is a wall between bays.
