A wallbox that fits both sides of the Atlantic

The VT-HW is the home and light-commercial wallbox in the VULTAE range. The same compact housing — 200 × 330 mm — is built in two electrical families:

  • IEC versions for Europe, the UK, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East: single-phase 3.7 or 7.4 kW and three-phase 11 or 22 kW, with a Type 2 socket or a tethered Type 2 cable.
  • North American versions for the USA and Canada: 32, 40 or 48 A on a 208–240 V split-phase supply, with a Type 1 (SAE J1772) cable.

For distributors this means one product family to stock and support across markets.

Smart energy management built in

Most home supplies were not designed for an extra 7 to 22 kW load. The VT-HW reads the building load through a CT sensor and adjusts its own current in real time, so the main breaker stays on while the car charges. With a PV system, it can follow the solar surplus instead of drawing from the grid.

For operators as well as homeowners

Every networked VT-HW supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G. Operators can connect it to the charging management system they already use; homeowners can use the app instead. Drivers start a session by RFID card, app or plug & charge.

Features

  • Dynamic load balancing

A CT sensor on the main supply reads the household load; the wallbox lowers its current so the main breaker does not trip.

  • Solar surplus charging

Charging current follows the energy available from the PV system to use more self-generated power.

  • Group management

Several wallboxes can share one supply limit without an OCPP platform.

  • Home app or OCPP

A built-in Wi-Fi app module for homeowners; OCPP 1.6J or 2.0.1 for operators — switch between them on site.

  • Built-in protection

Over-current, over/under-voltage, over-temperature, surge and ground monitoring as standard.

  • Custom shell and colours

Shell and front-panel colours can be changed for OEM projects.

Installation requirements

  • Dedicated circuit with the breaker size listed for each model
  • Wall mounting as standard; floor stand available (see Accessories)
  • PEN fault protection available for UK installations
  • Commissioning by app; OCPP backend set up over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G

Options

  • LCD screen
  • RFID card reader
  • 4G module
  • PEN fault protection (UK)
  • Tuya app control
  • Custom shell colour and logo (OEM)

Frequently asked questions

Is the VT-HW available with a Type 1 connector?

Yes. North American versions (VT-HW7-NA, VT-HW9-NA, VT-HW11-NA) use a Type 1 (SAE J1772) cable at 32, 40 or 48 A on a 208–240 V split-phase supply. IEC versions use Type 2.

What is the difference between the S and C versions?

S versions have a Type 2 socket, so drivers use their own cable; C versions have a tethered Type 2 cable. Socket versions are rated IP55 and cable versions IP65.

Can the wallbox avoid tripping the main breaker?

Yes. With the CT sensor installed on the main supply, dynamic load balancing reduces the charging current whenever the rest of the building draws more power.

Which backend protocols are supported?

OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G. A home app mode is also available for single-family installations.

Which certifications apply?

IEC versions are supplied with CE, UKCA and TÜV certification; North American versions with ETL and ENERGY STAR. We send the certificates for the exact model you order.

Can we sell the VT-HW under our own brand?

Yes. Shell colour, logo, screen interface, app branding and packaging can be customised. See our OEM / ODM page for the process.
