Not every vehicle charges at a fixed charger. A portable Mode 2 charger lets a driver charge from a suitable socket; a mobile DC charger brings fast charging to workshops, showrooms and temporary sites.

Portable & Mobile: common questions

What is the difference between a portable and a mobile charger?

A portable charger (Mode 2) is a cable with a control box that plugs into an AC socket, up to 22 kW. A mobile DC charger is a wheeled DC unit, 20–80 kW, that runs from a three-phase supply point.
